NOMINATION PROCESS
Department chairs, division chiefs, and research unit directors are encouraged to publicize and promote nominations for the John H. Walsh Young Investigator Research Prize award. Nominations must be made by UCLA faculty members. Materials should be submitted in accordance with the procedures outlined below.
MATERIALS SUBMITTED AS PART OF THE NOMINATIONS
The collection and transmittal of materials in support of a nomination for the John H. Walsh 2018 Young Investigator Research Prize are the responsibility of the faculty member who is nominating the young investigator. The dossier submitted in support of the nomination should consist of:
- Cover letter from the nominator: This letter should describe as concretely as possible the significance of the research contributions of the nominee, his/her standing in the field, and the nominee's extraordinary future promise of distinguishing him/herself as an academician of the highest caliber as exemplified by Dr. John Walsh's own career.
- Curriculum Vitae of the nominee.
- Optional supporting letters : Letters solicited on behalf of the nominee are encouraged but not required and are limited to two letters in addition to the primary nominator's cover letter. Support letters should be collected by the primary nominator and submitted online as part of the complete dossier.

The deadline for nomination is October 19, 2018
SELECTION PROCESS
A committee of 6 distinguished colleagues will select the prize recipient from the pool of nominations.
